The chief characteristic of the subjective mind is that it
can only reason deductively. The objective mind can reason both deductively and
inductively. Inductive reasoning means any process of analysis by which we
arrive at a conclusion. Deductive reasoning means thinking from the standpoint
of an established conclusion on the assumption that the conclusion is correct,
disregarding whether or not it may be true.
― Ernest Holmes Lessons in
Spiritual Mind Healing
Humanity concluded and found
evidence to support the idea that all disease and all difficulty in life meant
that we incurred the displeasure of God and received punishment because of it. Even
after science discovered germs, viruses, and bacteria, staunch believers
maintain that these are merely evidence of God’s action against those who
displease Him,
A valid or well-founded
conclusion, even with the weight of history behind it is not necessarily a true
conclusion yet we discover evidence to prove its truth for us. Be cautious what
you conclude. You will find evidence, you do support your belief and what you
support in mind you experience as your life.
I decided to conclude prosperity
as my personal reality. I expanded my conclusion to the idea that prosperity is
real and readily available to all. My conclusion grows to knowing that God is
the prosperity that constantly lives within us, as us, waiting for us to
notice. As soon as we shift to this new conclusion, we begin to discover
evidence of its validity. Now, is it true?
Who cares? I feel happy believing
this as my truth. I enjoy daily confirmation of this as Truth in my
experiences. My life is easier, more pleasant, and filled with personal freedom
since I arrived at this conclusion. As I practice living in this new reality I
create for myself by concluding my prosperity, others respond to me in new more
cooperative and supportive ways. I enjoy greater respect, appreciation, and
income. I feel more powerful and I feel that I belong not only to my family but
to everyone, yet I also feel greater freedom.
What is heaven but a state of
mind that speaks loudly of life, love, and freedom to enjoy it all? My
conclusion of my very real and present prosperity is my journey to the delight
of heaven here on earth. If I have not yet entered in, at least I approach the
gates. My conclusion is a simple shift of focus from too little to enough, from
I can’t to I can.
Because we can begin at the
smallest thing and reason to its ultimate context, the Absolute; or begin with
the Absolute and reason to the most minute, we have complete freedom to live at
any height of freedom and joy that we conclude as possible for us. We vision
for the highest good. Why not conclude that that highest good is here for us
now and accept the evidence of it, which follows?
I begin with Spirit as my highest
conclusion. It lives as everything including me. Spirit lives for the joy of
living, therefore so must I because that is the nature of reality – joyful life
as complete prosperity. I accept it now. I receive it now. All evidence of my
life supports it now, so do I and so it is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
