Being Your Vision – Virtuous Prosperity

The Master said: Writing cannot express words completely. Words cannot express thoughts completely. …
Silent fulfillment, confidence that needs no words, depend upon virtuous conduct.
I Ching Wilhelm / Baynes Edition

There is power in virtue, the simple, clean, unassuming approach to life made with humility and compassion in quiet acceptance that we draw infinite power through us and yet remain equal with everyone. Feeling neither superior nor inferior toward no one, affords us an elegant life of enough with some to spare.

Thomas Troward, when writing about discovering and using the infinite Power as personal power said that the first action of a virtuous person is to use that power to ensure that he or she uses it constructively and for the good of all involved. This action creates a flow of blessing and uplift that always returns blessing and uplift to the one using the power.

Emerson reminds us that the virtuous are unaffected and silent about their virtue. Who would brag about breathing or being aware of the sky at noon? Virtue is that natural in the person of virtue. So, why then would I write about virtue? The answer is simple. Although we are born innocent and pure, as we grow, we assume facades and mannerisms. We color our actions with beliefs that we have accepted but which may lack basis in truth.

With spiritual practice, we may rediscover and revitalize our natural innocence as expressions of Spirit. We meditate on the qualities of being such as love, joy, wisdom, truth, beauty, and peace. We do this by thinking about how we wish to be treated and then treating others in that way without force or attempt to fix anything. We begin to discover a light in other’s eyes that reflects the growing lightness we feel within as we meditate on the Presence.

Our relationships blossom. Colds and flu become memories. Inspiration touches us at every turn. Our work seems to accomplish itself and we always have what resources or assistance we require. Whatever our calling, each days actions flow almost effortlessly while becoming more satisfying. We find more energy to enjoy the rewards of life and more life to enjoy the energy that fills us.

I turn my thoughts and my feelings to quiet inner contemplation of the qualities of Spirit the only author of virtue and by seeking to embody these qualities in my life expression now, I stretch for the high mark of the virtuous, who prosper on all fronts with compassion and care for all others. Daily my wisdom and my peace grow within me as I discover that I am prosperous now in that I know that I live by Spirit’s constant grace and constant gift of life itself. Gratitude fills me and so it is.
