If you have been feeling that
everything is against you and no one really cares for you, know that God is in
everyone, and meet God in others and see what happens.
– Ernest Holmes
Think of the beginning as, “Once
upon a time before there was a time.” In this non-time, there “was” a Unit. Being
timeless and infinite, It was, is, and ever shall be the One. Immediately, we
can see that because we know both cause and effect, this One is the
Cause/Effect of all that we see. This Cause/Effect must be perfect wholeness,
Love and Law, because the Universe is whole and harmonious within Itself even
as It continuously moves in what we call evolution to higher expressions of
Itself as sentient beings, human beings.
Contemplate the logic of this.
Read the sacred scriptures and lore of the world. Practice spiritual practices.
Any of these paths lead to all of these paths and finally to the understanding
that what was in the beginning as the One is true of each of us today, and
knowing that truth, we draw from and participate in all of Love and Law in
perfect harmony with each other despite any appearance to the contrary.
What we need to do, what we all
do at our deepest level of consciousness, where we still recall our union of
the One, is to definitely know that the One in all as all is for us because
that is Its nature. In practice, this requires that we learn to know our own
nature and we learn to understand that we are sufficient as we are without
needing others to lean upon or complete us. We do desire friends and that
desire rightly seen is its own fulfillment. Our friendliness begets our
friendships. It is that simple.
Years ago, I thought that I
needed rich and famous friends to succeed. I set the intention to meet and
associate with influential people who could assist me in various ways. Because I
understand mental equivalents and the laws of attraction, without making any
special efforts, I met actors, singers, and producers. What I succeeded in
doing was finding, meeting, and befriending people who could support and
promote me in my career. What I failed to do was to clearly define what I had
to give, what my vision of success included, and how I expected these people to
assist me.
Though I never received any great
career benefit, I enjoyed some remarkable friendships that were evidence of
prosperity in themselves and I gave my love and my respect freely. The
prosperity of good relationships is sufficient unto itself without fringe
benefits. But my bonus benefit came as awareness that I too am sufficient unto
myself by virtue of my spiritual nature. I learned that being self-complete in relationships;
I draw self-complete people to me, which results in powerful natural synergy
for each.
Meeting God in others now wakens
me to see more clearly the spiritual essence that I am. Living Spirit loves
through me and attracts to me my perfect companions in life for perfect
prosperity. I meet prosperity daily in casual and intimate contacts through the
simple powerful act of seeing the good of God in all. I am so grateful for
every meeting and every greeting, knowing that I participate in expanding
blessings and prosperity through all and so it is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
