Rightly approached, positive
thinking does not mean aggressiveness or the use of willpower, but rather a
dynamic, affirmative attitude toward life. The power and creativity that reside
by nature in our thought are directed through the process of a prayer of faith,
which is based in the conviction that there must be a Wholeness back of
everything. Constructive affirmative thinking leads us to that Wholeness and
faith in that Wholeness is our key to the fruits of its action.

Some of us believe that we need
to approach prosperity like a shark after a meal. Others believe we need to
manipulate the world and all of the people around us to gain the favor of
prosperity. I am discovering that prosperity is as approachable as the produce
counter in my local market. I need to know what I want to do and what produce I
need, and then I need to select the very best, the freshest I can find,
purchase it and use it in my cooking.
I think about the comparison
between the various types of produce I might purchase and prosperity’s
approachability. I realize that in my mind, I have the ability to plant the
seed ideas of all I desire to enjoy in my life; that they often spring full
grown into my experience, even as I plant them; and that my ideas are a
constant flow that draws from infinite Intelligence all I need as I need it.
Neither Mind nor soil rejects the
seed. Good seed and good ideas, cultivated and nourished grow in profusion and
multiply in their fruits. Thoughts of health grow as my abundant experience of
health, especially when I discard – refuse to dwell upon – the weed seeds of
disease or discomfort. In a similar way, all creative ideas grow to fulfillment
and bear wonderful fruit unless they become choked with weed thoughts of
self-doubt, lack, or limitation of any kind. I can carry this same analogy
through relationships and finances.
Prosperity is approachable. When
Jesus said, “Don’t you have a saying, ‘It’s still four months until harvest’? I
tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” he
was telling his disciples that the reward and fulfillment of their living
exists now. It is not necessary to wait for success because success is the way
we live rather than a condition of doing. Effectively, we bring as much success
and prosperity as we desire into every situation simply by recognizing that we
do and that the amount and kind of our prosperity experiences reflect our own self-concept
of our success potential as we act upon it.
Now I turn to that Divine I Am
within me and receive the seed ideas for every ingredient of my prosperity. I
receive my ideas throughout my day and giving them over to the soil of my
subjective mind, which is in and of that Universal Medium of creation. I
harvest in consciousness even as I plant for the soil of Mind is instantaneous
in transforming seed to fruit and I know that Truth and act on that Truth now.
I approach prosperity gratefully and openly and I receive the harvest of my
dreams. All is good for me now.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
