If you ever get to that place of
stillness—out of it everything comes the uncreated creativity; the creative
possibility of the individual out of the uncreated; the voice that was not
spoken, yet is ready to articulate—something new and fresh, a creation that
never existed and need never again be.
– Holmes Papers 3 George Bendall
To articulate literally means to
join together in clear word ideas to create a convincing argument for or
against a proposition. Heady stuff! Yet, the reality that we can collect and
combine ideas in new ways and that those combinations becomes our new ways of
being in and relating to our world with greater realization of all of life’s
blessings is astounding and thrilling.
It doesn’t matter to me whether
my coherent thoughts about something new to me actually form substance into the
thing or whether those thoughts simply awaken me to the existence of that thing
as part of infinite possibility just waiting for me to notice. Either way, my
thought transforms my experience and provides me with necessities and luxuries;
I would not have if I did not decide to think of them as mine.
We all have the same power to
create. Genius, status, education, and any other conditioning aside, anyone who
can imagine living a better life with greater health and success, in love and
loved, and enjoying plenty of money does attract what he or she imagines and
even greater experiences than dreamt of. Children and the very aged have as
much attraction power as teens, and dynamic young adults. The key is in playing
with the idea that we can create our own special circumstances though a change
in the way we think and what we think about and then actually making those
changes.
Ideas expressed as words in declarative
statements transform our thinking. As we change the subject matter and the
desired results of our thinking, we also shift into different levels of
feeling. Our consciousness changes and that brings us to our newness.
Here is an example from my own
experience. My wife and I experienced some financial strain while expecting our
first child that led to bickering over little or nothing. We wanted to feel again
the in-love romance that brought us together. One rainy day, I thought about a
picnic and shared my thoughts. She thought it would be fun too, but why wait. We
spread a cloth on the floor and broke out paper plates, a bottle of good wine
we had been hoarding, a loaf of French bread, and some salami and cheese. With
a window slightly open, the rain serenaded us. Candles completed the setting
for our indoor romantic picnic. Life and love improved from there. We call this
experience to mind years later as a reminder that even being a bit broke, we
could celebrate each other and change the course of our relationship.
Now, I recall that the Infinite
Substance, surrounds, enfolds, and permeates my life. I know that this
substance responds to my feeling imaginative thinking so I direct myself to
think only of blessings and uplift. I receive that exactly gratefully even as I
articulate the measure of prosperity that I desire; it appears in my life with
alacrity. And so it is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
