There is an inner Life into which
we may plunge, an inner consciousness in which we may bathe. As water purifies
itself by flowing, so our inner realization of the flow of Life through us
purifies the stagnant pools of our fears and doubts. Travelers crossing the
desert, covered with dust and filled with weariness, seek the refreshment of an
oasis, the shelter of a rock in a weary land, the cool shade under a spreading
palm. So we, with a mind weary with confusion and exhausted with too much
effort, should seek a spiritual oasis, an inner communion with the invisible
Presence.

Make a Difference
Some of us work too hard. We
believe that if we stop, the world as we know it and all of our hard won
prosperity will crumble away. We work tired. We work when ill. We work through
all of the family events. Finally, too often, we retire, feel useless, and die
leaving a family that never knew us well in sadness and wonderment. I worked
with people who saved all of their vacation and sick days to add to their
retirement. Some accumulated over a year’s worth of time, which when they
finally collected at their latest pay rate, were far more valuable financially
than when they first accrued. But, when they finally took those days, they were too
old and tired from never stopping to refresh and recharge to enjoy them.
I have also known people who
worked at a relaxed casual pace most of the time but stepped it up under
special circumstances requiring extra time and then took the weekends and
vacations they earned, deserved, and desired to recharge and refresh. Some of
these people only needed a few minutes during the day to go outside and breathe
natural unconditioned air while looking at distant and large objects or the trees
move in a passing breeze to reconnect with the limitless inner energy of
Spirit.
Fears often fade to nothing when
we look at them squarely. Because we discover they are constructs of our own
thinking and beliefs we have full control and beyond courage, we may become
fearless in our recharge process by realizing that we are the Infinite Wisdom
living as us, which solves every problem, provides every answer, and provides
all we require to meet every need or good desire.
Meditators claim to have more
time in a day than when they skipped their fifteen minutes of quiet connection
and communion. Somehow, by focusing on Unity for a short period every morning,
at least every day, they receive the inspiration to accomplish with greater
efficiency and effectiveness. The great mystics of every age and religious
persuasion focused their attention on living with the Divine as their constant
beacon, guide, strength, and inspiration. Mysticism, far from being some new
Age fad is an ancient way of being that resulted I great poetry, magnificent
art, and all that is magnificent in our civilization. Mystics rule their hearts
and minds with love and recognition of the grace of God, work with an inner
fire and focused energy, and let the stars wander as they do undaunted by
outward influence.
Now, I recharge my prosperity by
communing with the Divine in every way I see It. I let that Divine guide me in
right timing and action as every thought word and action reveal my highest good
now. I live in gratitude and praise forever fully charged refreshed and so it
is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
