We remake our world by creating a
bigger mental equivalent. We can never get a new environment by thinking about
the old one. We could achieve marvelous results by putting individual visions
together, synchronizing them, and weaving them into a collective vision. Good
fulfills itself as it multiplies itself. As we accept and embody a new vision,
it becomes our reality.
― Ernest Holmes Gateway to Life
Carl Jung in his book Synchronicity
told of a young woman patient who, in spite of efforts made on both sides,
proved to be psychologically inaccessible. She used her highly polished
Cartesian rationalism with an impeccably "geometrical" idea of
reality to remain set in her ways. He was sitting opposite her one day, with his
back to the window, listening to her flow of rhetoric. She had an impressive
dream the night before, in which someone had given her a golden scarab — a
costly piece of jewelry. He heard something behind him gently tapping on the
window. He turned round and saw that it was a fairly large flying insect that
was knocking against the window-pane from outside in the obvious effort to get
into the dark room. He opened the window immediately and caught the insect in
the air as it flew in. It was a scarabaeid beetle, or common rose-chafer
(Cetonia aurata), whose gold-green color most nearly resembles that of a golden
scarab. He handed her the beetle with the words, "Here is your
scarab." This experience punctured the desired hole in her rationalism and
broke the ice of her intellectual resistance. The treatment continued with
satisfactory results.
My son recently unexpectedly met
up with his cousin whom he hadn’t seen for twenty years in Las Vegas. That is a
coincidence. But my having run into my uncle whom I hadn’t seen for well
over a decade in a market in Oregon,
after expressing a desire to connect with my father’s family makes both of
these events into synchronicity. These two similar events have unexpectedness
and time of separation in common. They both include members of my father’s
family, my uncle and my nephew. They both also involve all parties being
hundreds of miles from their own homes. Without seeming cause, we all to our
amusement and delight attracted each other.
Deepak Chopra speaks of growing spirituality
and our mystical nature as a progress in which we begin to notice increasing
numbers of synchronous events. I take that to mean that we become conscious of
our unity and interconnectedness. In that consciousness, our words become our
experience as they are the tools we use to select our particular experiences out
of the infinite possibilities available to us. The one Cause includes all
possibility and our choice becomes a secondary cause, which includes both
synchronous and asynchronous events, which together make up our fluidly
changing life experiences.
Napoleon Hill in Think and
grow Rich offers a most practical idea for synchronizing visions for
prosperity with his Master Mind teaching. As individuals come together and
share their personal visions, a common bond of mutual interest combines with
enlightened self-interest to create a composite synchronous vision of both
individual and common wealth.
I declare myself harmonious with Life
and all of Its blessings. Now, I open to the common good and project my
personal good into the mix, which now becomes my avenues of prosperity in
synchronous ways providing my complete freedom and so it is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
