There is an ascending and descending
scale of consciousness, from the lowest to the highest and the highest to the
lowest, but a thread of Unity runs through all. There is a thread of the all
sustaining beauty which runs through all things, and doth all unite….There are
ascending and descending scales of consciousness from atoms to Archangels and
all are a part of the one Supreme Intelligence. – Ernest Holmes Change Your
Thinking Change Your Life
Our individual mind consists of
two major aspects. We are alert to an active consciousness and there is an active
level of consciousness that works in the background or our awareness, seemingly
at times below, at other times above our conscious attention. We call the first
one our conscious mind and the second we variously refer to as subconscious,
subliminal, subjective, and even superconscious mind.
The background processor handles
billions of operations per second as it maintains our physical wellbeing,
reminds us where we left the keys, and inspires us with ideas and feelings that
move us into action, which once we have trained it, makes those actions into habits.
However, consciously, we think one thought at a time. When we realize this, we
can intend an experience, set our subconscious mind to work to create that
experience, and shift to a new idea or thought, confident that what we set in
motion remains in motion unless we ourselves stop it. Like the weed that breaks
through a concrete sidewalk, our instructions cause our subjective to use every
resource available to break through any barriers to our prosperity including our
own conflicting thoughts, is we predominantly think prosperity as reality.
Because our background processer
is both below and above the level of our conscious attention, it draws from the
Divine and from the mundane. When we set it in motion deliberately intending
that it accomplish a specific task, it literally moves the heavenly and the
earthly in accomplishing our choices. Both aspects of mind together make up the
entirety of our individual consciousness; but now, add to this the reality that
every individual mind that ever existed or is even possible already belongs in
unity as component identities within the infinite Mind of the Universal One.
Instantly, we can see that the
single thread of our conscious prosperity intention, when released to Mind as
our acceptance of successful completion, brings to bear all of the resources of
that Mind and everything and every entity that It contains. We draw Universal
Power through our intention to the point of our attention simply by thinking of
our desire as already an accomplished fact.
But, don’t just take my word for
it. Select one desire that really interests you but seems like a challenge to
achieve. Every day twice a day, think about that desire as if you already had it
and all of its trimmings. Feel the joy of it, the gratitude, and appreciation. Radiate
that grateful feeling as if to God or at least to your own higher power. Do
what comes naturally and be alert to take specific action to receive your
desire. Continue in this way until that desire is your reality. Select another;
repeat.
I dwell in and upon the infinite
power of Mind, which I now use to claim that which I most desire. I relax in
grateful receptivity, do what comes next, and accept that all works for me now.
I receive my god, feel my joy, and so it is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
