To resist anything is to
recognize it. To think of a thing is either to create it or to hold it in
place. To resist something is to place it in mind as a genuine obstruction. Hence,
that which is truly non-resisted by true non-recognition tends to become
displaced.

Thought Dictionary
Genuine prosperity means to me an
attitude or way of seeing the world that accepts it as it is and a decision that
no matter what looms on the horizon, we may use it and enjoy it for our good. If
we lived in a black and white world, there would only be prosperity and
anything else but we live in a world that we color with variations and then,
when we can’t seem to find the real thing, we imitate it. Imitation prosperity
is when we strain to keep up appearances.
Genuine prosperity when “as good
as it gets” is as good as we desire is as good as possible is the only
prosperity that we can accept if we desire the rich, full, and happy life of
vitality, contentment, love, and freedom that Spirit meant us to enjoy. We do
not live to pass divinely ordained tests, trials, or tribulations. God lives us
for the joy of being all of what God can be in every form and function that
affirms joy and life. We make our own trials and tribulations by trying to force
the world to match our desires rather than accepting the gifts that God’s world
offers to the alert seeker.
Resisting anything makes it
stronger. Aikido masters know that the opponent’s strength is a weakness when
applied as force but when applied as fluid balanced motion, that strength is
real power. Genuine prosperity assists us in seeing that there are currents of
action, opinions, and movements that we do better to avoid even as it moves us
into the currents, events, and circumstances that lift us into realization that
our innate happiness is sufficient power for successful living.
Genuine prosperity is far more a
qualitative experience than a measure of quantities owned. It is about intimacy
and love rather than fame and acclaim. I know people who live better with
physical handicaps than their fully mobile friends just because of greater
interest in life. I have met geniuses who never feel accepted and successful
and mentally challenged people who go home from simple jobs, glad to be alive
and glad for a chance to do something for others and receive payment for it. The
fearful ‘wealthy” that tremble at every bit of economic news and clutch tighter
their moldy money or attempt to will their bank balances higher far outnumber the misers of legend.
Now, I release my resistance to
life and wholeheartedly embrace it. All I need and all I desire God has given
from the beginning. I accept it now with the grace intended and live my genuine
prosperity one delight at a time and so it is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
