All of us occasionally find
ourselves in a mental rut. We need to pick ourselves up and reaffirm our
position in Divine Mind; we need to see ourselves surrounded by everything that
makes life worthwhile, and know that Truth is not bound by any existing
conditions.

I just scanned through an article
on factors that determine wealth. They include number of parents, zip code,
wealth of family, etc. I believe that these factors may influence but do not
determine wealth for wealth arises for individuals of any background who find
that spark of interest and curiosity that pulls them forward with its vision of
life enjoyment and fulfillment.
We have all found money, if only
a penny, lying on the ground. Many have found up to hundreds of dollars in old
furniture, clothing, and drawers while cleaning or straightening up. I knew
several people who found large stashes of hidden money after their depression
era parents who never trusted banks, passed. But, finding real prosperity is
much easier because it is always right inside of us and immediately available
all around us.
President John F. Kennedy had a
vision of the United States winning a space race with the Soviet Union. Out of
that vision, grew many industries and scientific and engineering advances that
continue to pay dividends today in jobs and conveniences unimagined prior to
that time. Our imagination fueled by our own grand visions move us with inner
drive to discover new facets of our own core strengths and we build our vital
relationships with others on a foundation of vision for a greater good. We
literally find ourselves when we practice regular visioning meditations and
activate them with our spiritual treatments followed by genuine actions to
bring those visions into concrete reality.
Whether we find ourselves in a
rut because of accepting external influences on our decisions, or simply fell into repetitious habits, or even because we lost our spark of youthful exuberance
for a moment, we can as easily find our way out of the rut and bring with us
the treasures that being in a rut provided to us. How can a rut provide
treasure? When we experience boring repetition of thought and action, we are on
autopilot but we are at the same time noticing elements of our experience,
which drawn into conscious use, provide new ways of efficient effective action.
We got into the rut through laziness; now, we use laziness as a spur to an
easier and better way of being and doing who we are.
Picking ourselves up may involve
judicious use of our emotions. As we look at our current conditions, we may
call upon any emotion that moves us into action as long as the action we take
is constructive, uplifting, and supportive of ourselves and others. St. Paul
said, “Be angry, and do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your wrath…” Anger
at the less than stellar status quo moves us to make a change for the better
but realization that the better is possible may inspire a joyful response that
moves us even more.
I look for myself within by
seeking my divinity, my unity in the most High, God. As I find that unity, I
find my prosperity right where it always is. I call upon my intellect and my
feelings and instruct both to work for me and through me to lift me up to more
wonderful experiences of health, creativity, love, and abundance, which moves
Spirit as Law into action that reveals me as prosperity now and so it is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
