Being Your Vision – Prosperity and the Pairs of Opposites

Pairs of opposites are the principle of duality, or two opposing forces, as light and darkness, heat and cold, male and female, positive and negative, etc. These principles are found in most ancient religions, as well as in the Christian. However, the term does not necessarily mean conflict, but rather balancing forces. They are really the two ends of a pole.

At one company where I used to work, whenever I heard anyone praised, blame followed quickly. Have you noticed how many of the very rich and famous are now notorious and addicted? We fear or seek extremes on a scale of polar opposites and by our fear or our desire; we attract both with equal vigor. Often we don’t even notice this because we believe others are responsible for our success or failure.

In Handbook to Higher Consciousness, Ken Keyes Jr. wrote, “"Over 99% of the people in the western world live on lower consciousness levels characterized by trying to find enough security, sex, “groovy” sensations, ego rushes, prestige, money, power, and status. This endless struggle yields lives of constant resentment, worry, suspicion, anger, jealousy, shyness, and fear. Everything people tell themselves they must do to be happy ends up yielding more frustration than joy." The reason this happens is addiction to having, which means that our desires own us.

We escape the trap of opposites by seeking within ourselves the unity with Spirit that reveals to us the Truth that all we require for life is already ours for the enjoying. This awareness is Jesus’ Kingdom of Heaven. This awareness allows us to walk the Middle Path with ease. We prefer an experience and we learn to enjoy all experiences free of demands. As we live in this relaxed easy-going manner, we experience far more of our preferences. This is balance; and from this poised state of balance, we are agile and free in our choice making.

Unless we enjoy life, we are not prosperous. Unless we first enjoy who, what, and where we are with or without any other person, all that others might call our prosperity is really burden. When we discover that happiness is our choice and choose it first, we are practicing a spiritual following of the biblical commandments by recognizing only one God and by refusing to bow down to the things and images as our God.

With this choice, we discover our needs fulfilled lavishly. We receive the silver that lined the clouds, which once obscured our view of the real value of life on Earth; living loving life itself. Every coin has two sides but the value is both sides together. Every Log, board, or stick has two ends but the middle carries the load. Only the Infinite is without end, is entirely Its own center. When we center ourselves in the Infinite to any degree, we center ourselves in Prosperity.

Knowing that I have preferences, I live in trusting awareness that Spirit, knowing all things and living within me, provides me lavish fulfillment and uplifting joy, which I now gratefully accept and so it is.
