Controlling of Conditions: Man’s
affairs are controlled by thought working through the avenue of the One Mind.
Conditions are the result of causes... Conditions are always effects. Conditions
being always the externalization of thought, it follows that they can be
controlled by changing the thought – by thinking constructively. – Ernest
Holmes Science of Mind
There really is no such thing as conditional
prosperity in the sense that one condition must be satisfied to establish
another. Prosperity is a Spiritual constant despite the fact that we sometimes
fail to see it or enjoy it. However, because we tend to experience the
Changeless Reality as ever-changing experience, which we perceive in sequence,
for practical work, we change the content of our thinking in order to change
the effects or conditions we experience.
Imagine a swiftly flowing river filled
with fish. Most of us are like those people who not having nets or even poles,
must catch what we can by hand in the shallows. Others catch many at once and
they appear to be more prosperous but the river has enough for all only our
ignorance of methods keeps us in poverty. Worse yet, we may notice the small
fry in the shallows and remain unaware that only a few feet farther out, the
fish abound in quantities beyond our ability to understand let alone use for
our prosperity.
Every moment the river of life
passes around and through us but we only enjoy what we notice, and we notice
too little for lack of attention. What are we paying attention to instead? I
see people complaining about past treatment but never living today. I see
others complaining about future prospects without accepting today. I even see
people who have finally gotten what they thought they wanted who are still
living the controversy because someone withheld. And, both winners and losers
continue to complain so the winners miss their joy and the losers fuss even
louder instead of seeking their own.
Sometimes when I listen to people
talk about attaining financial or other prosperity, I am reminded of the old
southern gentlemen, who when asked for directions, responded, “you can’t get
there from here. You have to go someplace else first.” We do not require
intercessors, inheritance, or to belong to any particular race or group. We may
go direct to our Source by means of our thoughts and by aligning our thoughts
with our feelings with our actions; we then create our perfect prosperity net.
Conditional prosperity is an
illusion that I no longer support. I do use my imagination to devise that ways
and means that I may use to discover and fully enjoy the prosperity with me
right here and now. I let the One Mind show me and reach out where it directs
me and as I cast my nets on the right side, I pull in so much I have to give
some back.

Rev. John Lusk
“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
