Being Your Vision – Reimagine Prosperity

Our Renaissance and Romantic ancestors, as well as Freud, Jung, and Hillman and their colleagues, all turn to the past for a renewal of their imaginations. We are in grave need of just such a renaissance of our own, a rebirth of ancient wisdom and practice accommodated to our own situation. – Thomas Moore Care of the Soul

How do you see prosperity? Are you prosperous, as prosperous as your vision? When I was young, I always thought in terms of affording and in terms of cost. Value rarely entered my thought, except when I looked at priceless art, which I considered as belonging to others and never thought of in terms of my own ownership through appreciation.

The ancients and modern shamanistic traditions value all of the Earth and all of life as the greatest treasure. They seek not so much to own but to enjoy everything they find. A good day, a rich day is filled with the adventure of discovery, which calls at once for attention to long wide views and minute detail. In the long broad view, we can see infinite possibility and potential for new discovery. The minute details give us the pleasure of texture and variety that keep us freshly interested in the moment by moment unfolding of life.

Ancient wisdom whether religious, ethical, or philosophical, shows us the answers and solution that our ancestors discovered through their own living. We do not need a rounder wheel to ride upon but we may need a personally more comfortable vehicle for enjoying that ride. Drawing from the ancients while imagining how they might see our present wakes within us that spirit of curiosity, which pursued, attracts to us new ways to define our lives and the prosperity that suits us today.

The ancients were only as wise as we; they conveyed their wisdom by oral tradition and so embodied it until they wrote it that their wisdom remains fresh to us. We use that wisdom as a base for new thought and new approaches to our personal conditions so at some time we too shall be examples of ancient wisdom because we now prosper greatly. Wisdom is really ageless but we feel that endurance of an idea gives it more merit and more power. By following the examples of our predecessors and closely attending broad and narrow perspectives, we reimagine our world in a new image and likeness of our own reflection.

What would you like to experience as prosperity? Think of something new for you. Make your request a stretch of your imagination. How would the inventor of the wheel or any one of the greats of the ages gain this form of prosperity? What will you do once you have it? How will it change your life? Will you be able to contribute more to others? Do you require ownership to benefit from it? Remember that the small part we own has greater value because it allows us greater freedom to enjoy the vastness of the Universe around us without requiring us to manage more than our small piece.

Now, I draw from inner wisdom the Source of all wisdom both ancient and new. I look to my prosperity with new eyes but eternal understanding and find my prosperity flowing to me in perfect ways for today that I may continue to enjoy as long as I desire. I accept with gratitude and so it is.

“First you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
