The communion of the soul with
its Source, fans the spark of faith into a Divine blaze in whose light dark
shadows no longer lurk. This is inspiration. This is illumination. This is the
perception of wholeness. – Ernest Holmes Science of Mind
Many talented people seem to wait
for inspiration from outside to inspire them to create. They have yet to
discover that all creativity comes from within them as the act of God thinking
new thoughts through them. Other than the variations of spiritual practices, I have
little interest in the rightness or wrongness of all of the isms of theology,
church, temple, or mosque. Important to me is the happiness and vitality of the
people who practice the various religions. I am only interested in people who
love and who prosper using their religious faith rather than in spite of it.
I believe that God wants us to
prosper and to live freely enjoying abundance of all good things. Tests of pain
and suffering are human inventions. And, why would an infinitely loving Life
create a being that is less than perfect in spirit and then punish that being
for some inherent imperfection. I also believe that we constantly receive a
steady stream of ideas, any one of which can lift us to greater prosperity, but
few listen, fewer hear, and even fewer act. The rest of us complain about the
unfairness of it all. Why should so few be so wealthy and so many be so poor?
We are poor, if we are poor, through our own ignorance or unwillingness to act upon the inspiration we
receive and see our actions through to complete success. As soon as we hear
someone say, “No,” we bow to their authority and cease our efforts because
after all, “Who are we to rise above our lot in life?” Remember, poverty has
more to do with purity of intention to know God without material attachment
than it does with being poor in health, creativity, love, or even lacking financial
freedom.
The mystic nun, Hildegarde von
Bingen described Reality as breathing in and breathing out. She was a potent
force in twelfth century Germany as a political gadfly against church
impropriety and as abbess of a convent, a writer, and a composer. The Roman Catholic
Church still uses her music in some services and her writings influenced later
mystics to seek closer relationship with God. Her inspiration prospers to this
day.
Ecclesiastes 3: 12-13 says of
humanity: “I know that there is nothing better for them than to rejoice and to
do good in one's lifetime; moreover, that every man who eats and drinks sees
good in all his labor, it is the gift of God.” This ought to be inspiration
enough to enjoy here and now all we have and increase our awareness thought by
thought of this limitless prosperity God has for us, available for our use as
soon as we accept it.
Now, I breathe the freshness of
new air into my lungs and inspire myself with realization that God as Spirit is
my inspiration to seek, find, and enjoy my prosperity. I discover it where I
am, carry it with me, spread it around, and enjoy my continuously increasing
consciousness of it and so it is.

“First
you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your consciousness as a
definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the thought and it will
give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves every problem; it is
the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
