As fire warms the body, as food strengthens us, as sunshine
raises our spirits, so there is a subtle transfusion of some invisible force in
communion, weaving itself into the very warp and woof of our own mentalities.
This conscious commingling of our thought with Spirit is essential to the
well-being of every part of us. – Ernest Holmes Science of Mind
Sacred Food
Life sustains Itself as me beyond the bread of wheat and
barley, beyond the grains It gives to us, beyond all earthly meat or meal. Life
sustains Itself as me by living me as Its substance and Its own dear expression
being me being all of my potential. Life and the quiet communion with Life are
my nurture, my sacred food.
Sustained so, I am whole. Vitality in me selects its own
fulfillment in my diet and in the actions of my day and my rest at night. I am
Life’s wholeness revealing glowing radiant health and energy of action for
work, worship, and play. The warm assurance of my communion with the Infinite
includes peace and love, which both meet and accompany me throughout my day.
Joy and gratitude is my desert.
My sacred food is the wholeness of Spirit energizing me and
pleasing me with all varieties of life experience. I drink in the grace of God
as righteousness fills my hunger and quenches my thirst.
Life is my banquet of sacred moments, sacred food. I
celebrate. So it is.

“First you ask definitely for direction, then it will enter your
consciousness as a definite thought; then in your turn you give it back the
thought and it will give you back the thing. It answers every question, solves
every problem; it is the solution to every difficulty.” Ernest Holmes
